After a small summer hiatus, we're back to blogging. Each quarter we update our taxonomies to reflect the changes in the Call Reports. This past quarter, the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) introduced a new report schedule - "HC - THRIFT HOLDING COMPANY".

For small research companies, Thrift Holding Company data was always hard to find. This is a great addition from the OTS to improve the transparency of Thrift Holding Companies. This schedule is completed by all Thrifts with Holding Companies, with the exception of Holding Companies regulated by the Federal Reserve.

On the summary page, when possible, we've linked the Thrift to their Holding Company for quick access to the Holding Company information. Soon we’ll integrate this information in our widgets.

This new report has facts and figures that I'm sure will be of interest. It also provides a more complete picture of a Thrift Financial Institution. A thank-you to the Office of Thrift Supervision for making this useful information available.
