ATLANTA, Nov. 2 - SunTrust Banks, Inc. (NYSE: STI) and GB&T Bancshares, Inc. (Nasdaq: GBTB) announced today the signing of a definitive agreement under which SunTrust will acquire GB&T and thus bolster its presence in several high-growth Georgia markets.
